Ujwal Patil is an Associate Director at AstraZeneca, specializing in continuous downstream processing technologies that advance sustainable biomanufacturing and reduce cost of goods manufactured (CoGm). Has led the development of modular purification systems, including asymmetric dialysis, counter-current TFF, and UFDF, delivering significant process intensification and water savings. Collaborates across AstraZeneca and with external partners to develop and scale column-free, membrane-based monoclonal antibody purification technologies. With more than nine years of industry experience, has driven process intensification from innovation to GMP readiness, with expertise in process automation, skid design, digital strategy, and CMC process development.
