Giota Kyriakou
Giota Kyriakou is the Founder and Principal of InContextBio, where she advises early-stage biotech teams on applying AI and computational approaches to accelerate scientific innovation. Her work focuses on translating complex biological objectives into clear computational strategies, technology roadmaps, and scalable infrastructure decisions.
Prior to founding InContextBio, Giota held senior computational and scientific leadership roles at Tessera Therapeutics, where she directed computational protein and RNA engineering efforts supporting in vivo gene-editing programmes. She led teams of PhD-level computational scientists and developed AI/ML-driven design pipelines that generated experimentally validated variants across platform and therapeutic programmes.
Earlier in her career at Cargill, Giota established and led molecular modelling and data science capabilities, applying machine learning, bioinformatics, and molecular modelling to protein engineering, enzyme engineering, formulation, and bioindustrial research.
With expertise spanning protein engineering, AI/ML, molecular modelling, bioinformatics, and computational biology, Giota brings a multidisciplinary approach to designing next-generation biological systems and translating computational insights into experimentally validated outcomes.
